FROM THE WORSHIPFUL MASTER

I hope everyone enjoyed a safe and fun filled summer. Before turning our attention to future activities a brief review since the last Trestle Board:

The Grand Masters Ball was held on July 24th and Past Master Henry McDonald once again did an outstanding job. The well attended event saw guests enjoy good food and great entertainment. It is no surprise that Henry cannot retire from planning and organizing the Ball.

On July 20 Senior Deacon Mike Rashad assumed the East at the summer school lodge of instruction. Everyone, including the Grand Master was surprised to learn that he had become a Master Mason in 2009. On July 28th Mike exemplified the 3rd Degree under the direction of John Doyle. Among the guests attending was immediate Past Grand Master Jack Biggs. Henry and Mike continue the tradition of excellence in masonry Gene Leasure and Mt. Moriah Lodge no. 116 did not take a vacation and catechism classes in the 2nd degree continued. Gene is hopeful that our candidates will be ready to exemplify in October.

Senior Warden Greg Hammond is planning to exemplify the 3rd Degree in September. I will keep the Lodge informed of these developments.

Rehearsals for line officers, past masters, and interested members resume on September 20th at 7:30 pm. If you are considering becoming a line officer you will want to attend.

“Peace forever dwells where harmony prevails”

Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Bessent, P.M.
Worshipful Master

REMEMBER TO DONATE BLOOD
You will feel good, the community will benefit, and you may save someone’s life.

                                                                                                       MASONIC CREED
I, as a Freemason, believe in the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man. I will do unto others as I would have them do unto me. I pledge my loyalty to the Government of the United States of America, a Government of the people, by the people, and for the people and will not countenance disloyalty on the part of others.  Freemasonry is founded upon these principles and I will use my utmost effort to preserve them for posterity.
So mote it be!
